Cosrx is a Korean skincare brand that offers an extensive line of products that is sure to match anyone’s skin type and concerns. We received a few products from Cosrx’s snail line which contains the star ingredient – snail mucin filtrate. There have been a lot of products popping up with this key ingredient. It is known to help repair the skin barrier, promote collagen production, and help heal acne scars.
The Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is one of the Cosrx’s most popular products. This essence contains 96% snail mucin filtrate, panthenol, and allantoin and claims to nourish, moisturize, and repair damaged skin. It is packaged in a 100ml bottle with a pump dispenser, making it easy to use.
It has a stringy, gooey texture that is surprisingly not sticky at all. It is a bit slimy and glides effortlessly onto the skin. The texture might get some getting used to if you’ve been using more watery type essences. It has a faint scent that disappears after a while. It takes some time for the essence to be absorbed by the skin and leaves the skin looking glowy and dewy. This essence helped heal our acne scars quickly. We had a few acne scars when we first used this and after 3 days of consistent AM and PM use, our acne scars were visibly lighter. Our skin also looks and feels so soft and hydrated after every use. 2-3 pumps is enough for the face and neck so this product is cost-efficient too.
The Cosrx Advanced Snail Peptide Eye Cream is formulated with snail secretion filtrate, 5 types of peptide, and niacinamide. This product aims to nourish the eye area, improve skin elasticity, and brighten the skin. It is packaged in an airless bottle that allows efficient dispensing of the product.
It is our first time using an eye cream with such a stringy texture. It was a fun experience. It wasn’t any difficult to use compared to other eye cream textures we used…. just different. 😆 Even though the cream is a bit rich, we didn’t encounter any irritations or formation of milia while using this. We use approximately a pea-sized amount for our eye area in our AM and PM routine. This eye cream helped hydrate the area around our eyes, making it look more plump and healthy.
The Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream is formulated with 92% snail mucin and is good for all skin types, but most especially a great fit for those with dehydrated and aging skin. It is packaged in a 100ml tub. It did not come with any scoop or spatula but we fortunately had some extras lying around so we use those to get the cream.
It has a light and creamy texture that is also stringy and stretchy like all the other products from the line. In our experience, this cream is very fast absorbing and does not leave any sticky or tacky residue. The only con to this is that it is slightly harder to handle than most moisturizers we’ve used. With it’s stringy texture, it’s always a challenge getting the right amount of product from the tub lol. We love this cream for it’s hydrating and healing properties. It kept our skin moisturized and helped heal our acne scars. We love using it in our evening routine and our skin looks so supple and plump the morning after using this.
The Cosrx Advanced Snail Mucin Power Sheet Mask is a nourishing sheet mask that is dipped in 35,000 ppm of snail mucin. We were so happy that we were sent not one, not two, but three sheet masks so both of us got to try and test this.
The texture of essence this sheet mask has is slimy and slippery. The sheet mask itself was a bit difficult to unfold and apply because of the stringy nature of the essence. Each sheet mask is drenched in essence. There was a bit of a struggle with fitting the mask but once it’s on, it did not move around much. Our skin looked instantly better after using this – very glowy and plump!
We’ve been testing these products in the same routine and overall, we like how they all, together, made our skin feel soft and look glowing, dewy, and healthy.
