This pandemic has made us realize how much we have and appreciate each and every blessing. Most importantly, it made us ponder on what really matters. The quarantine paved the way for us to prioritize those that are essential among everything else that we deem important. In our household, we give priority to observing safety protocols and keeping in our prayers the health and safety of everyone. We also had the time to reflect on which household and personal items are essential for us. It shifted our attention to single-use items and was directed to how we feel bad realizing that despite our small household and our practice to recycle all these years, the remaining wastes collected from our house still end up in the landfill that would take years to decompose. Single-use items have been popular because they are convenient and more affordable. Most eco-friendly items are a bit pricey because production is labor intensive. Reflecting on the advantages of choosing reusable eco-friendly products over the convenience offered by disposable single-use items, we have decided that it is time to be more deliberate in deciding which household and personal items to let into our home. In this little way, we hope to give nature the love it deserves by transitioning into a more sustainable lifestyle. Good thing, more and more sustainable alternatives for household and personal items are becoming available in the online market.
